Re-Shoot Blog: Scenes 8 and 9
Hey blog, I am back. Its been a while since I have last given you guys an update on my Final Task. During this time, my group members and myself have watched and rewatched our video, for what has felt like a thousand times. Although we were on the edge of re shooting anything because we were satisfied with the video for the most part, I decided that it would be best. This is especially because we have become accustomed to the little mistakes, but for viewers watching it the first time, they might be potent. These little mistakes were evident in scenes eight and nine. Scene 8 was located in Rowyn's kitchen and was a phone call. The first issue was the contact name, it was supposed to be "Chloe" calling, but we had forgotten to change Mia's contact. In the background, we could also hear Mia's voice in the background, faintly. With this, I took initiative and in all of five minutes, it was re-shot. The next scene, scene 9 came with difficulties as well, and unfortunately, a lot of them. This had Aidan (acting as cop 1), Mia (acting as cop) 2, and Rowyn as the main character all together in one scene. It was a mess, in total taking about 15 retakes, just to not be satisfied with the result. Everyone kept forgetting their lines, to counteract this, I made flashcards for them to read off, out of the view of the camera. Then came, the facial expressions and laughing. For some reason, no one could take each other seriously. So, if one person didn't mess up another did. To resolve this, I gave everyone a focal point. For example Rowyn's was Aidan's shoulder. Throughout these scenes I wad behind the camera, directing and filming. Overall, I feel like reshooting these two scenes made for a much better video. I'm so excited for you guys to see the result! Coming Soon!
